Springmount Station Horseriding

Springmount Station is located west of Cairns on the dry side of the Tablelands. After departing Cairns, you will be taken on a scenic drive up the Kuranda Range, through the town of Mareeba and on to Springmount Station.

Along the way you will see coffee, avocados, mangoes, tobacco and sugar cane growing.

The area you ride is in Australian bushland. You will see huge eucalyptus and gum trees, open grasslands, termite mounds, clear flowing creeks and magnificent mountains which form part of the Great Dividing Range that surrounds the property. It is the perfect environment for many native animals.

The food here is delicious: morning and afternoon teas are served with freshly made scones on arrival, and homemade biscuits before returning to Cairns. The Aussie barbecue lunch is great, with a choice of fish or steak, and a selection of fresh salads, followed by a tropical fruit platter.

Touring Options

Full Day Horseriding

You’ll be driven one and a half hours west of Cairns up the Kuranda Range through Mareeba and onto Springmount. The guides then takes you for a two and a half hour ride through open eucalyptus bushland. You will be given a horse to suit your riding ability and the group will be split up into groups of beginners and more experienced riders. You will come back to the homestead for a barbecue lunch followed by boomerang throwing and a refreshing swim in the creek. The afternoon ride takes a different route for one and a half hours.

Two Day Farm Stay

The two day farmstay is two full days horse riding with four different rides. Our guests stay in the family homestead and share
our bathroom or can use the shower and toilet block. The farm stay is a good way to see and be part of an Australian family. Guests can help to bring in the horses after breakfast and feed the animals.
