Prevelly, WA
Prevelly is a 10 minute drive west of Margaret River and is the home to the world famous Margaret River surfing beaches, in Western Australia’s south west. It is a beachside playground with a close knit community, four hours from Perth city.
Prevelly, was named after the Preveli monastery in Crete by Geoffrey Edwards, an Australian soldier who was given shelter by the monks during World War II.
The pounding waves host the Margaret River Masters each March, showcasing the best surfers in the world. In contrast to the surfing activity there are many peaceful beaches used for a quiet paddle or gentle floating.
Beachside apartments and houses, villas, camping, and caravanning facilities are available. Enjoy ocean views from the restaurant and cafes. Prevelly acts as a relaxing base for tourists, just a short drive from Margaret River’s shopping, wineries, cheese and chocolate factories.
