Wisteria House, one of the grandest homes of the gold-rush period, has been faithfully restored and remains a proud testament to the craftsmanship of the times. Fourteen foot high ceilings, with detailed friezes, stained glass windows, polished floorboards and antique furniture evoke the best of Victorian grandeur and charm. The driveway is sheltered by a 90 year-old wisteria for which the house was named. Guests have a choice of accommodation-In-house in Eloise Sophia bedroom, the Grace Darling private suite (with private facilities, kitchenette & antique 4 poster brass bed) or in Alice Cottage in the gardens, both with an emphasis on comfort and privacy. Alice cottage has a private entrance, lounge, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and Tuscany style courtyard. Children (and small dogs) are welcome in Alice cottage by arrangement.
