Potager, The, Castlemaine

The Potager at Golden Point is a blissful country retreat only an hour and a half from Melbourne. Set amidst soaring Lombardy Poplars, this 1870’s sandstone cottage on four and a half acres, is reminiscent of a French farmhouse in Provence. There are three bedrooms, two bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, large living room with a generous open stone fireplace, eclectic collection of books, music and art. Beyond the swimming pool is the Potager garden, which was laid out in 1990 and created from a ‘clay pan’. Located only 5 minutes from Castlemaine, 30 minutes from the therapeutic spa waters of Hepburn Springs, the fabulous Bendigo Art Gallery and Maryborough – with golf, horse riding and tennis all close by. The Potager is a perfect place to rest and recharge the batteries.
