Castlemaine Central Cabin & Van Park, Castlemaine

Castlemaine Central Cabin & Van Park is centrally located in Castlemaine just 150metres on the Daylesford side of the traffic lights. The seventeen modern, fully ensuited and fully self-contained cabins are set in a peaceful, picturesque, parklike setting under shady deciduous trees. We also have a small number of level camping and caravan sites. Our modern and spacious amenities block has a coin laundrette with washers and dryer. There are several barbecue areas, including an undercover camp kitchen area and there is an in-ground pool to cool off in over the warmer months. Castlemaine Central Cabin & Van Park is ideal for couples, families and groups. It is within walking distance of the cafes, restaurants, galleries, antique shops and other attractions of central Castlemaine and close to the railway station for arrival /departure by rail or to access the Victorian Goldfields Tourist Railway for steam train rides between Castlemaine and Maldon. It is an ideal starting point for walking or mountain biking on the many tracks and trails including the Great Dividing Trail which pass through box-ironbark forests and heritage goldmining areas (where there is still plenty of gold to be found). It is handy to the local motocross tracks and sporting venues within the town. As a base for day trips, Castlemaine is ideal being less than an hour from the hustle and bustle of the major centres of Ballarat and Bendigo and within about one and a half hours of Melbourne, the Southern Ocean, The mighty Murray river or the Grampians Range.

Glasshouse Mountains

The Glasshouse Mountains in the hinterland of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast are actually the cores of 20 million year old volcanoes. The sides of the volcanoes have eroded away leaving only the hardened rock spiremountain cores we see today. Learn more about this awe-inspiring landscape.
