Glenlynn Cottages, Bridgetown
Glenlynn Cottages are located in the south west of Western Australia near the picturesque town of Bridgetown.
Set on farmland, the scenery is a delight to the eye at all times of the year. In summer the sun sets over the water so the evening on your balcony is heavenly. Many coloured leaves are the delight of autumn, romantic misty mornings are the winter treat and in spring marri and wattle blossoms are complimented by the vibrant green pasture.
We have four cottages set on 120 acres of farmland. Each cottage is fully self-contained and sleep six people. They are two bedroom cottages with doonas, electric blankets, fans and wood fires so ready for all sorts of weather. Each cottage has a refrigerator, microwave, gas cook top, barbeque, washing facilities, television, crockery and cutlery for six, toaster and electric ketttle for your convenience. Each cottage has a wood fire so your cottage is always warm in winter (wood provided for you on the verandah). We have five acres of water which each cottage overlooks. There are two row boats for you to use (no charge) We buy and stock the water with brown and rainbow trout for flyfishing. Flyfishing is by prior arrangement with Chris or Fran and is AUD $12.00 per day catch and release.
At Glenlynn we have walk trails through the Glenlynn Conservation Reserve which is adjacent to the cottages. A stroll around the waters edge is a pleasant way also to spend time watching the abundant birdlife. On our property is a vineyard. We grow the grapes for wine. You are welcome to wander in the vineyard and then walk on to the olive grove.
Roaming on the hillsides we have cattle and sheep which of course at the right time of year means lambs and calves. As Bridgetown is the heart of the south west you are only a short drive or day trip to features such as the Walpole treetop walk, tall timbers in Pemberton, Margaret River, Bunbury, Busselton and Boyup Brook.
