Moreton Bay Escapes offers fantastic day trips and overnight tours to Moreton Bay and Moreton Island. You can book these if it’s just for one person or for a group.

Moreton Island is the world’s third largest sand island of which 98 per cent is a protected National Park, with no sealed roads, 4WD is the only mode of transport!

Moreton Island features un-crowded beaches, safe ocean swimming and untouched sub tropical forests. The Eastern side is a 38 kilometre long uninterrupted surf beach. The western side is sheltered from the open sea and has fantastic ship wrecks hidden under the sea. Most of the Island is vegetated with fantastic thick forests. Within the Island landscape there are a series of fresh water lakes with crystal clear water. Blue Lagoon offers great fresh water swimming and cooling off from the summer sun. Moreton Island is the home to Mount Tempest which is the World’s highest coastal sand dune.

Touring Options

One Day Moreton Bay Sailing Escape

Approximately three hour sail to Moreton Islands. Take part in the sailing or kick back and relax and let the expert crew look after you.
On arrival to the Islands, anchor off the beach and set ashore with their tender. Spend the next three hours there, relaxing on the beach or get into some snorkelling (summer) or sand tobogganing (winter) as well as ski tubing which is available all year round. The day includes morning tea, buffet lunch, and afternoon tea, as well as all activities and equipment supplied.

One Day Moreton Island Four Wheel Drive Tour

First activity – get straight into sand boarding and tobogganing! This is great fun, high speed and high adrenalin. Then, cross the island to Open Beach. Boogy Boarding and body surfing is next! Off to North Point and Honeymoon Bay’s secluded beach with great safe surf beaches.
After a picnic lunch, you will be off to Cape Moreton Lighthouse and Information Centre.
The last stop is Blue Lagoon, one of Moreton Island’s beautiful fresh water lakes. Take a dip and soak up the naturally occurring tea tree oils (the fountain of youth).

Two Day Moreton Island Camping Adventure

Two awesome days of discovering all of Moreton Island’s hidden wonders, beauty and activities. After arriving on the first morning on the island, drop your gear off at the bush safari camp. Your guide will take you touring the island in a four wheel drive, seeing both amazing forests and pristine beaches. Each trip’s itinerary is different depending on local conditions and tides. You will see Cape Moreton Light House (a great spot for wildlife viewing), Blue Lagoon, 40 kilometres of uninterrupted surf beach. The Desert and big sand hills for sand tobogganing and great views, Five Hills Look out.

Two Day Moreton Island Cabin Adventure

During your two day adventure you will try:
Sand boarding, sand tobogganing; there are two sites to undertake this activity – The Desert (Green run), The Bid Sand Hills (blue/black run). The Big Sand Hills will only be visited during the two day tour as it is found at the southern end of Moreton Island.
Snorkelling, boogy boarding and body surfing, fishing, bush foods.
