Aussie Adventure Sailing – Classic Sailing

Aussie Adventure Sailing has no fixed itineraries for their sailing holidays. All the crew are qualified professionals, providing guests with gourmet meals and sharing their knowledge of the local ecology. Guests are given the opportunity to have a ‘hands on’ experience by helping the crew with the workings of the yacht. Or you can simply sit back, relax and enjoy the voyage of discovery in the World Heritage Listed Region. Explore the fringing coral, coves, harbours, inlets, beaches and bays of the beautiful Whitsunday Island.

Aussie Adventure Sailing’s Classic Adventure sailing yachts enable you to relive a piece of maritime history whilst at the same time enjoying the ambience of time and the space and grace of their era. Experience the adventure and romance of discovery under sail on an Aussie Adventure Sailing Holiday in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.

Aussie Adventure Sailing has many contemporary sailing vessels in their Adventure Sailing category, providing professional, fun filled, three day sailing adventures in the protected waters of Australia’s premier cruising ground, the Whitsundays Region of the Great Barrier Reef.

Touring Options

Dream Catcher – Classic Cruising

Dream Catcher is a classic 18.9 metre Clipper Bowed Ketch and is proud to be one of the few overnight sailing vessels in the Whitsunday’s that carries a maximum of only 14 guests. This contributes to a more intimate environment aboard while we visit magnificent locations. Dream Catcher combines the style of yesteryear’s traditional design with all the comforts that the modern age has brought to sailing, beautifully appointed and fast sailing, with plenty of shade, spacious decks and large, timber lined cabins.

Waltzing Matilda – Classic Cruising

With a reputation for providing a sailing experience that combines comfort with adventure, this Roberts Ketch provides a spacious and relaxed atmosphere for 14 passengers. Your crew of two will show you the best locations of the Marine Park and will ensure your trip is truly memorable. With a choice of share cabin or private double cabin, wide flat decks and roomy interior “Waltzing Matilda” is an ideal cruising yacht for a Whitsunday adventure.

Enid – Classic Cruising

Combine history and great sailing when you step aboard this beautiful John G Aiden ketch and experience some of the purest sailing available in the Whitsundays. Enid was built when sailing was dominated not by technology and sponsorship, but rather beautiful timber boats designed with timeless classic lines. Launched in 1961 and retores in 2002/2003 Enid has a long history or racing and is well known throughout the yachting fraternity.

Independent Endeavour – Classic Cruising

Independent Endeavour is a Classic 65 foot Nautor Swan ketch, this famous S&S design won the Whitbread Round The World Race and “Indy” won the Parmelia London-Australia Race to name but a few. This is a beautiful example of a timeless classic. This “Lady of the sea” will take you on an amazing and unforgettable sailing adventure throughout the Marine Park. You can get involved with setting the sails and steering the yacht, learn the forgotten skills of sailing a piece of yachting history, or you can just sit back and just take it all in. You may choose to participate in snorkelling over coral reefs, scuba diving (optional), go for a bushwalk or visit some of the regions icon destinations such as Whitehaven Beach (weather permitting) – the choice is yours.
