Cania Gorge Caravan and Tourist Park, Monto

Cania Gorge Caravan and Tourist Park is situated in the centre of the beautiful Cania Gorge, just five minutes by car to Lake Cania, it is built on 23 acres of carefully tended lawns and shaded by large numbers of Australian Native trees.

They offer a good range of self contained cabins, powered sites and un-powered sites, there are a number of camp kitchens throughout the park, providing tables and chairs, barbecue facilities, hot water for washing up and electrical source. Open fire places are provided within the park for warmth, atmosphere and camp cooking.

At Cania Gorge Caravan and Tourist Park they conduct a scheduled, interactive, bird feeding session each afternoon, attracting such birds as Lorikeets, King Parrots and Australian Laughing Kookaburras. Rufus Bettong, a small member of the Wallaby family ventures into the park at nightfall.

A satellite cellar door licensed to the local vineyard is onsite and wine tastings sessions are conducted every Saturday afternoon, while outdoor movies are shown on the ‘Big Screen’ Wednesdays and Saturday evenings and every night during the school holidays.

The park also provides for your enjoyment a tennis court, swimming pool and a large jumping pillow. Nearby Lake Cania offers excellent fishing with Australian Bass, Saratoga, Yellow Belly and Silver Perch being regularly caught. Water Skiing is also a popular pastime.

Cania Gorge National Park is walkers’ paradise offering great fauna and flora, 169 species of birds and a good number of native animals. A magnificent four wheel drive to Kroombit Top allow some to visit the crash site of ‘Beautiful Betsy’ the American Liberator Bomber that came down in 1945.

One or Two Bedroom Villas

The Parks finest accommodation, two one-bedroom villas are nestled amongst the trees overlooking Three Moon Creek, home of the elusive platypus, and the remaining two bedroom villas over look Oakey Creek. The villas offer comfortable accommodation for up to eight people and feature fully self-contained kitchens and spacious ensuites. Air-conditioners and televisions have been fitted for your enjoyment, while balconies and outdoor settings run along the front of each villa ready for you to sit back and relax, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy nature.

Ensuite Cabins

Ensuite Cabins are situated in two locations in the park – four overlooking 3 Moon Creek and the platypus walk, and three ideally located for viewing the movies by starlight. Ensuite cabins can accommodate up to five people, with each cabin having a fully self-contained kitchen, spacious ensuite, television and air-conditioning for comfort. A balcony and outdoor setting allow one to just sit back and relax in the beautiful garden setting.

Standard Cabin

The standard cabins are more suited to the budget conscious holiday maker who still wants the good things in life. The accommodation is suitable for up to five people and offers a fully self-contained kitchen, air-conditioning and television. The cabins are centrally located with the park and easily accessible to all amenities. Shaded by lush trees, surrounded by beautiful lawns, open fire places at your doorstep, one can only enjoy the perfect surroundings of the park.
