Cania Gorge Bush Adventures

The Cania Gorge Bus Adventures will provide a package to the backpacker market, to enable them to experience the unique Cania Gorge National Park and the hospitality of the Monto area. Adverts are placed in the TNT magazine – the number one Backpacker magazine in Australia, as well as British Balls Backpacker Magazine. An AUD50.00 non refundable deposit is needed on booking.

The package will be a set price fee which includes transport to and from Bundaberg Tranist Centre – tents, sleeping bags and mats, food and cooking equipment, site fees at both Caravan Parks, bicycle hire and canoe hire, a camp oven meal one night, a nightout at the Mulgildie Pub with a meal from the menu and entertainment.

Ben Power with his 21 seater bus will pick clients at the Bundaberg Transit Centre on Saturday and Sundays (depending on the demand), as well as the transfers between campsites and for the night out. They will transport, via Mount Perry, to the Cania Gorge Bus Adventures Office at Cania Dam, with a refreshments stop at the Mulgildie Hotel on the way. The clients will be allocated with all necessary equipment and food. From here they will be taken to one of the caravan parks and helped to set up their camp. They will be helped to light a camp fire and shown how to cook their first meal over the camp fire. The clients will be in charge of their own camping experience from the first night. Office staff will bring out fresh bread and fresh meat each day and check to see how things are going. Bicycles with helmets are available for the clients use. The Cania Gorge Bush Adventures own (16 single and 1 tandem bicycle) clients will be given a map of the walking tracks and of the roads around Moonford, for exploring by foot or by bicycle. Four by three man canoes and one by two man canoe with 14 life jackets are owned by Cania Gorge Bush Adventures and are stored at the office at Cania Dam. Clients will be able to use the canoes at any time on Cania Dam for recreational use. Fishing rods with lures will be available if any clients are keen to fish in the Dam. Permits apply, information at the office. Mid-way through the week, the clients will be taken to the other Caravan Park for a different experience. They will enjoy a camp oven meal one night, and then they will be taken on a Friday night to the Mulgildie Pub for a meal and entertainment-this will allow some interaction with the local people.

At the end of the week, they will be transported back to Cania Gorge Bush Adventures Office at Cania Dam. They will be re-processed and bond money returned for equipment returned in good condition, before they will return to the Bundaberg Transit Centre.
