Wooleen Station, Murchison

Wooleen Station is a working sheep and cattle station in the outback of Western Australia. Your hosts Brett and Helen Pollock will make your stay comfortable, educational and enjoyable in the National Trust listed homestead or the self contained rammed earth guest houses.

Wooleen offers eco tours with Brett out into the rangelands and the tours include understanding a working sheep and cattle property, flora and fauna, early pioneering history, aboriginal culture and the peace and quiet of the ancient landscape. Enjoy a sunset tour to the oldest lands in the world or self drive tours or even bushwalking experiencing this wonderful station.

The homestead includes luxury accommodation, homestyle cooking, a cellar full of Western Australian wines, billiard room, library, swimming pool and an oasis of a garden. The property includes national trust listed woolshed, blacksmith shop and homestead as well as the ‘Bower Bird Museum’.

Wooleen is a place to relax, unwind and enjoy your holiday. Guests can join in with station activities or just enjoy Australian outback bush.

Children activities include tours, bushwalking, meeting the sheep dogs, pet kangaroos, collecting the eggs from the chook run or meeting contented homestead cats. Quite often there are other young animals to meet such as baby goats or new turkey chicks.

Guests can self drive or fly into Wooleen, landing at one of two airstrips. Wooleen is inland from famous Kalbarri on the Mouth of the Murchison River which flows through the property, and is inland from Monkey Mia where the dolphins visit. Wooleen is easily accessed on gravel roads from the Western Australian coast and is also on the way to Mt Augustus in the Gascoyne. We advise that a minimum stay of two nights is essential to appreciate the station.

We look forward to your visit.
