Surrounded by a small olive grove, citrus trees and a cottage garden, it enjoys a north facing aspect, with glorious rural views. The air-conditioned cottage has one bedroom (Queen), dressing room, shower, toilet, sitting room with double sofa bed, gallery, fully equipped kitchen, dining area with pot belly stove and outdoor barbeque grill. There are covered verandas to the east, north and west. Ellisfield Farm is a property of 17.5 acres, enjoying an ideal north facing aspect with excellent protection to the north, south and west, and a State Flora Reserve to the east. Ellisfield operates as a ‘pick-your-own’ Cherry farm, growing sweet and sour Cherries. There is a beautiful old Quince orchard, planted early last century. A large dam provides the water to irrigate some three thousand fruit trees. Farm pets include two dogs, anglo nubian goats, black sheep, Chinese geese, silver apple yard and Indian runner ducks, and rare breed poultry – all of whom enjoy a great life. Guest dogs are welcome (outside only) Generous breakfast provisions are included in the tariff. Enjoy home made bread and preserves, free range eggs and fruit straight from the trees (in season). Visitors to Ellisfield also enjoy Farm Gate sales of Morello cherry desert wine, Morello conserve, Seville orange marmalade and Preserved Quince slice. Just over an hours drive from Melbourne, situated in the hills between Port Phillip and Western Port bays, close to beaches, golf courses, national parks and the fabulous vineyards and wineries of Mornington Peninsula.
