1 Day Bathurst Island Tour

Discover Bathurst Island on this tour departing from Darwin, and enjoy a unique opportunity to experience a modern day Aboriginal community. After a scenic flight you will arrive at Bathurst Island where you will be met by your local guide and shown through the Aboriginal community of Nguiu. You will visit the museum to view traditional art and depictions of Tiwi Dreamtime stories. Following this you can spend time with some Tiwi ladies, enjoying billy tea and damper as they work on their weaving and painting. The ladies will demonstrate traditional totem dances and perform a smoking ceremony to bless the visitors. Later you will set out for a scenic drive, and learn about traditional bush tucker, bush medicines and natural fibres and dyes, before departing on your return flight to Darwin.

2 Day Bathurst Island Tour

Discover Bathurst Island on this two day camping tour departing from Darwin. After scenic flight you will arrive at Bathurst Island, where you will meet your local guide. After exploring the Aboriginal community of Nguiu you can spend time with some Tiwi ladies, enjoying billy tea and damper as they work on their weaving and painting. The ladies will perform totem dances and a smoking ceremony to bless visitors. You will then set out for a scenic drive, stopping for a picnic lunch, before learning about traditional bush tucker, bush medicines and natural fibres and dyes. Later, you will set up camp and enjoy the sunset before a delicious dinner by the campfire. On day two you will travel to Cape Fourcroy to explore the rugged coastline and search for turtle nests. You will also visit Tomorrupi Waterfall and the Pukumani burial poles before returning to Darwin.
