Mackay Tropical Tours
Indulge your senses and experience first hand the fascinating beauty of Cape Hillsborough National Park. Mackay Tropical Tours is a locally owned and operated tour company run by people who have a passion for this magnificent area. Their guides delight in sharing their knowledge of the people, history and natural wonders of the Mackay area. Their enthusiasm assures a quality experience.
Created by volcanic eruptions over 30 million years ago, Cape Hillsborough was named by Captain Cook in 1770 and forms parts of the traditional home of the Aboriginal Juipera people. As part of these friendly and informative tours you will encounter a range of plants and animals and become familiar with their use in local aboriginal culture.
Join them on one of their memorable half-day tours. With two tours running daily they fit into any itinerary. Choose either the morning Tropical Diversity Tour or the afternoon Tropical Seascape Tour.
Each tour departs from the Mackay City Visitors Information Centre. While traveling to Cape Hillsborough on the air-conditioned tour bus they will present a video slide production taking you back to the very formation of Australia. You will witness the creatures, people and events, which changed the face of this remarkable area.
