Daktari Mountain Bike Safari is a local family business, specialising in providing guided mountain bike day tours on the Munda Biddi Trail. “Munda Biddi” means “path through the forest” in the Aboriginal Noongar language. The trail is an off-road mountain bike trail which passes through vast areas of majestic eucalypt forest. On the trail, you will encounter wildlife and plants not found anywhere else in the world. The South-West of Australia is recognised internationally as one of the world’s top 25 biodiversity hotspots.

These bike eco-tours are all-inclusive, with pick-up and drop-off in central Perth. Comfortable, quality 24 speed mountain bikes, helmets, gourmet lunch, snacks, water bottles and water are all provided. Waterproof jackets and pants are supplied in case of rain.

The tour begins with a comfortable ride in our airconditioned four wheel drive (4WD) safari bus, and takes you through the beautiful rural areas south of Perth, to the starting point of the ride, near Dwellingup. You will receive a briefing on safe off-road mountain biking skills, and be supplied with a bike to suit your size. Your guide will ride with you along the trail, and ensure you have regular rest stops and photo taking opportunities. You will learn interesting facts about the local flora and fauna, including Aboriginal bush tucker.

Your safety is a high priority, and your guide has nursing, Senior First Aid and Outdoor Pursuits qualifications, and has first aid kits and other emergency equipment available at all times. Mountain bike riding offers a level of interaction with the natural environment that cannot be experienced from within the confines of a vehicle. Your senses will be infused with a memorable magic that will stay with you long after you return to the urban forest. At the end of the ride, participants have the option of stopping at the local Dwellingup pub, or a winery enroute back to Perth.

King Jarrah Tour

Our standard, fully guided day tour. Designed for those who want a taste of the Western Australian bush. Easy grade suitable for all ages and abilities. The trail follows sections of the Murray River allowing for cool breaks. We ensure participants are briefed in safe off-road mountain biking skills prior to starting the ride, so the risk of injuries is reduced significantly. Total trail time approx. 4 hours.
