Coober Pedy, Whale Watching Two Day Tour – CTOHOB

In season – Southern Right whales gather at the Head of Bight from June until October. Combine the outback and opals of Coober Pedy with the whales at the Head of Bight and the oysters of Ceduna.

. Day one – Depart Adelaide for Coober Pedy. Coober Pedy is a town of 4,000 people known for its opal mining, and because most residents live underground. There is plenty to keep a visitor engrossed for at least a day, viewing the grassless golf course, the underground church and houses, looking for gems, or shopping for opals. And all this is set against a backdrop of one of the harshest environments in Australia.

. Day two – After breakfast, board a light aircraft and fly south west to the Head of Bight. Scenery will include rugged outback expanses. Fly over the Southern Right whales, and land at the Nullarbor Hotel/Motel. Travel by vehicle down to the whale watching platforms to get a closer look at the whales and the Bunda Cliffs. Fly coastal from Nullarbor to Ceduna. Highlights will include wheat and sheep farms, salt ponds and gypsum mines, Penong township, coastal scenery, including Point Sinclair, Fowlers Bay and Illcumba Dunes. Later that evening, board a Regional Express aircraft to return to Adelaide.

Outback Experience Two Day Tour – CTOEP

Highlights of this two day, one night tour include all return air flights from Adelaide. Coober Pedy, William Creek, Ceduna, outback and coastal scenery.

Along the way, enjoy scenic views of – Australia’s largest cattle station – the same size as Belgium, Lake Gairdner and Lake Everard, the Bawler Ranges National Park and the west coast of the Eyre Peninsula. Land in Ceduna, a town of 4,000 people, which is world famous for oysters and seafood. Ceduna is located on the coast, so visitors can enjoy views of the Southern Ocean. Later that evening, catch a Regional Express flight to Adelaide.

Whale Watching at Head of Bight Day Tour – CTHOB

Each year, from June until September, up to 100 Southern Right Whales gather at the Head of Bight to calve and to breed. Travellers can watch from platforms built along the cliffs at the Head of Bight as the whales slap tails or leap out of the water. The Head of Bight is located approximately 1,000 kilometres West of Adelaide.

In a one-day tour, depart Adelaide with Regional Express for Ceduna. In Ceduna, change to a light aircraft and fly west to the Head of Bight. Scenery will include – wheat and sheep farms, salt ponds and gypsum mines, Penong township, coastal scenery, including Point Sinclair, Fowlers Bay and Illcumba Dunes.

Fly over the Southern Right whales, and land at the Nullarbor Hotel/Motel. Travel by vehicle down to the whale watching platforms to get a closer look at the whales and the Bunda Cliffs. Return via the Nullarbor Hotel/Motel to Ceduna, then onto Adelaide.

Flinders Ranges and Eyre Peninsula Four Day Tour – CTFE1

Tour highlights include Gawler Ranges, Wudinna, west coast of Eyre Peninsula, lower Eyre Peninsula. See native wildlife – emus, kangaroos and dolphins on this four day, three nights air and four wheel drive tour.

. Day one – Depart Adelaide by light aircraft for the town of Hawker, located next to the Flinders Ranges. Transfer to accommodation. Join a four wheel drive vehicle tour of the Flinders Ranges and Wilpena Pound – an almost perfectly formed geological bowl which covers nearly 8,000 hectares. Includes lunch.

. Day two – Transfer back to Hawker, and board a light aircraft for a 90 minute flight to the central Eyre Peninsula community of Wudinna. In Wudinna, join a four wheel drive vehicle safari to experience the volcanic rocks of the Bawler Ranges. On the way to the overnight stop at Kangaluna Camp, expect to see emus, kangaroos and colourful birds in their natural landscape. Plus Wudinna Rock, emus, kangaroos and colourful birds in their native habitat, Gawler Ranges National Park and face painting with ochre rock. Includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

. Day three – Travel by four wheel drive vehicle to Baird Bay on the Eyre Peninsula coast for an unforgettable wildlife experience. During a boat-trip, hope to see Bottlenose dolphins and later, join the dolphins for a swim. Cross the bay to a colony of rare Australian sea lions, and wade in protected shallow lagoons. After lunch, rejoin dry land to visit the spectacular Eyre Peninsula coastline to Streaky Bay. In Streaky Bay, board a light aircraft to fly along the coast to Port Lincoln. Includes breakfast and lunch.

. Day four – Join a four wheel drive vehicle tour of the lower Eyre Peninsula. Highlights include the sights and sounds of Port Lincoln, views of Boston Bay (three times the size of Sydney Harbor), tour of a seahorse farm, lunch at one of Port Lincoln’s fine restaurants, Coffin Bay National Park, including beaches, towering sand dunes, and tranquil sheltered bays, views of mixed grains and sheep farms of the lower Eyre Peninsula. Return through scenic farmland to the Port Lincoln Airport, and return by air to Adelaide. Includes lunch.
