Waikerie Murray River Queen, Waikerie

The Murray River Queen, built in 1974, spent 17 years delighting passengers with her luxury river cruises before retiring to Goolwa to become a floating motel.

Now, situated in the picturesque Riverland town of Waikerie, she has been renewed and revitalized and now offers guests a range of unique accommodation and a dining experience with breathtaking views. For the majority of the time the ‘Queen’ resides at the Waikerie Riverfront however she fires up the engines monthly to take passengers on a fabulous five hour Twilight Dinner Cruise.

Guests are served a glass of sparkling wine on arrival followed by hors douvres on the top deck. The view is ever changing as the Queen sets off on her five hour return trip to Lock 2. As the sun slowly slips away, a magnificent three course dinner is served in the restaurant and the band starts playing so that guests can dance the night away. At the end of the cruise, accommodation is available for any guests who want to extend their Murray River experience into the next day.

The accommodation ranges from cabin rooms for the budget conscious, to spacious top deck State Rooms with luxury spa bathrooms.

The restaurant is open Wednesday to Saturday evenings and offers an exciting a la carte menu which reflects the flavours of the Riverland by using locally grown produce. The wine list also showcases the region by featuring Riverland Boutique Wines.

This Murray River Queen is available for functions and conferences and is the perfect venue for wedding receptions. Imagine a ceremony on the top deck against a stunning river back drop, a celebration dinner for up to 100 guests in the restaurant, and on board accommodation so that guests can stay overnight and wake up to a hot breakfast and the tranquility of the Murray River.

The caf on the back deck is open for lunch 7 days a week and is the perfect place to enjoy lunch or a coffee and cake with friends. The combination of fine food, wine and fabulous river views cannot be beaten.

Come and enjoy the unique experience of the paddleboat where the food and hospitality is first class.
