Tokemata is a beautiful retreat at Cobram on Australia’s greatest river – The Murray. With superb fully self-contained cottages, extensive landscaped gardens and sporting facilities on the property, it is an ideal destination for couples, groups or families. The Retreat is quiet and secluded, enabling you to feel the peace of the country. For those more actively minded, we have a full length golf driving range which comes complete with a putting green and two bunkers. Not only that, owner John van de Merwe is a fully qualified PGA Professional, with over 25 years experience, who is available for tuition. Golf schools are run by John throughout the year and combine coaching from John together with playing some of the best Murray Golf Courses. Also at the Retreat we have a full sized tennis court, a salt water pool and guest BBQ facilities. If you are looking for some more adventurous water sports, then bring your own boat to enjoy on the Murray River, or nearby Lake Mulwala can offer you water skiing, boom-netting, parasailing, kayaks and much more. Our accommodation caters brilliantly for groups, families or couples and with more sunshine than Queensland, it is beautiful all year round. There are a number of local wineries well worth visiting, some providing a delicious lunch to compliment their wines. Also in the area are some interesting attractions ranging from antiques and alpacas to the largest cacti collection in Australia!
