Fitzroy Island Resort, Fitzroy Island

During 2006 Fitzroy Island is being redeveloped with completion scheduled for mid 2007. As a result of the redevelopment, accommodation is not available on Fitzroy Island between 2006 to mid 2007.

The redevelopment will see the construction of 48 luxury dual key two bedroom apartments which can also be configured to offer Rainforest Rooms and one bedroom fully self contained Ocean View Apartments.

Accommodation will also be available in beach front cabins, and for the more budget minded guest, dormitory accommodation with ensuite bathrooms.

Conferences, incentives and weddings will be well catered for with a state of the art 140 seat theatre style auditorium offering superb facilities and unique breakout rooms with spectacular views of the surrounding rainforest and reef.

Entertainment will be available in the club lounge with retractable roof over the dance floor, hi tech lighting and sound, and large balconies overlooking the water.

The entertainment and day visitor complex will also offer a coffee shop, bakery, jungle juice bar, ice cream parlour, mini mart, dive shop, arts and crafts, health spa, kiosk, Clam Casino, and a la carte dining in the Fish Bowl Restaurant.

During the redevelopment period, Fitzroy Island will still operate for day guests and offer an abundance of activities – fishing tours, half day outer reef tours, snorkelling, diving, sailing, bush walking through the island’s National Park, bird watching and sea kayaking.
