Charlie Bates Cottage, Penneshaw
Cosy 100 year old stone cottage set in the foothills overlooking Hog Bay with views over the harbour and ferry terminal, the picturesque township of Penneshaw, and across to the mainland of South Australia. A ten minute walk will take you to the local sandy, sheltered beach and along to the jetty and ferry terminal. From the ferry terminal, the Hotel, Seafront Motel and local shops are just a short stroll away. Charlie Bates features an open fire place to relax by and there is a barbecue on the front verandah. You can relax on the verandah, notice the peace and quiet, the simplicity of the rolling lawn complete with a dovecote with many white fantails coming and going. Wallabies will visit all night to mow the lawn and hope for a piece of apple and stone fruit in the summer season. Charlies now has a new eat-in kitchen with views, a new bathroom with claw foot bath and toilet as well as a separate toilet. The cottage also has air conditioning.
