Candlelight Lodge, Thredbo

Candlelight Lodge is one of Thredbo‘s original guest houses having been built in 1958. Since that time it has undergone many re-furbishments, has tripled in size and at the same time retained the original charm of yesterday. With a reputation for warm European hospitality and comfortable accommodation, Candlelight Lodge remains one of Thredbo’s legendary places to stay and visit. It’s owner Hubert Engel has been part of Thredbo since 1974. He and managers Jane and Mark look forward to welcoming you to Candlelight and ensuring your holiday is one where you will return time and time again.

Our Fully licensed restaurant and bar has been part of Thredbo folklore for several decades. Boasting the same unsurpassed views as your bedroom, our restaurant and bar is featured by an open fireplace. European beers, imported schnapps and handpicked wine list by Hubert himself.

Australia has miles and miles of shoreline but which beaches are really great? Ultimately it depends on what you're looking for in a beach. Pristine wilderness without a single footprint in sight, the sparkle of cosmopolitan high rise on the waters edge, the adrenalin pumping roar of a powerful surf beach, or quite simply the perfect white squeaky sand that squelches between your toes.
