Maningrida Safaris
Maningrida Safaris is a wholly indigenous owned and operated tourism enterprise. It has been established by the local resource centre, the Bawinanga Aboriginal Corporation, a stable and successful Aboriginal corporation primarily to provide employment opportunities for its members. The members of the corporation are all local traditional people who reside in the remote Arnhem Land community of Maningrida or at one of the 32 outstations in the region.
The ecosystems of the region are traditionally managed resulting in a living landscape, which has high conservation values and strong traditional and cultural values. This venture is also aimed at providing economic return on the well managed natural ecosystem. The region has been set aside as Aboriginal land since 1925 and no European type land uses have ever taken place here. Therefore, the culture and the intricately related ecosystems have remained strong and healthy. We have a small camp to minimize tourist numbers and maximise each guests experience.
