Wangat Lodge, Dungog
Adobe Wangat Lodge is constructed of mud bricks and locally hewn timber. It is situated on a 37-hectare Wildlife Refuge bordered by a pristine stretch of the Chichester River and overlooking Chichester State Forest. Possums, wallabies and bandicoots are semi-tame around the Lodge; there are superb pools for swimming in the river; and an extensive network of short and longer walking trails extending from Wangat into State Forest and Barrington Tops National Park.
