Macka’s Farm, Princetown

At Macka’s Farm, we look forward to welcoming you to your Lodge. Equipped with cosy wood fires, bathrooms, and kitchen complete with family refrigerator, microwave oven and cook top. The design is open and spacious with cathedral style ceilings and wide timber verandahs all round. Spectacular rural views abound with farm, bush (with resident kangaroos) and the Great Southern Ocean, just where the Twelve Apostles can be found. Meeting the indoor farmyard animals is fun and removing the children from there is usually the biggest challenge. Learn about rearing a calf and why we do it, even give a calf a bottle of milk. Watch the cows being milked by Macka. Piglets, ducks, goats, sheep, dog, cats and old Tony the Pony are part of this busy old fashioned environment. On the farm enjoy walks, there are fish in the dam and the barn is a huge playground for all ages as well as housing the animal nursery. Macka’s is situated at the mid point of the Great Ocean Road and only 6 kilometres from the Twelve Apostles, Gibsons Beach and Loch Ard Gorge. This is also an area renowned for rock, surf and river fishing. 10 minutes away is Port Campbell where fishing is popular from the pier. For the more adventurous fisherman we have the renowned “Clifton” surf fishing beach or there are charter boats that leave from the pier. The Port Campbell National Park, Otway Ranges and Bay of Islands Coastal Park offer some wonderful walks along cliffs, through rainforest and bush and some challenging beach walks. Glow worms, waterfalls, 4WD tracks, native flora and fauna, wild flowers and the remains of ship wrecks from years gone by. No matter how active you would like to be there is something to see.
