Keswick Island Guest House and Bed and Breakfast, Keswick Island

Keswick Island Guest House is situated 32 kilometres off the tropical north Queensland city of Mackay, which is 1000 kilometres north of the capital Brisbane. Keswick Island is a designated National Park with a total area of 530 hectares (1300 acres) with five pristine sandy beaches and coral reefs abound.

This is an alternative holiday location for singles, couples and groups who want to rest and relax away from the stresses of city life and the working environment. It is a deserted paradise with an abundance of natural beauty, beaches and an ideal year round climate. This unpopulated environment has some unique bird life, white cockatoos, sea eagles and ospreys for the bird watching enthusiasts. Humpback whales can be seen from July to September every year.

David and Denise Bullock are your hosts at Keswick Island Guest House. The Bullocks motto is “Our Home is Your Home!” so guests simply have to tell them what they require and all is arranged.

The Guest House consists of four large guest rooms, each with its own king size bed and private bathroom, accommodating a maximum of eight guests at the one time. Each room has access to the 150 square metre deck area with breathtaking views over the Coral Sea and neighbouring Whitsunday Islands. Ceiling fans combined with beautiful sea breezes and the sound of the ocean ensure guests a wonderful relaxed night sleep.

The Guest House is powered totally by solar roof panels, with fresh water captured in two huge rainwater tanks beneath the house. Guests have the use of a golf buggy (no cars are allowed on the Island) to tour the island and visit the beaches. A good library and an assortment of games ensure that there is plenty to do for those who want to stay indoors.
