Fitzroy Inn, Mittagong
The Fitzroy Inn, Mittagong, is a colonial sandstone building in the Georgian style and is one of the most significant heritage buildings in the Southern Highlands.
Built c.1836 of convict-hewn sandstone, it operated as an inn for many years catering for travellers on the Great South Road.
Later a boarding school, and then a private home during the 20th century, the Fitzroy Inn was lovingly restored and renovated by its owners – the Alois and the Lovells – at the turn of the 21st century.
150 years after the original, the Inn today again welcomes the traveller and guest to enjoy its hospitality.
The Fitzroy Inn offers accommodation for up to 20 in ten luxuriously appointed guest rooms, each with ensuite.
The Fitzroy Inn is also available for conferences, functions and weddings
The restaurant has won a number of awards of the years.
Licensed and open to the public, our restaurant offers modern Italian and gourmet country cuisine with recipes unique to the Inn.
The Fitzroy Inn also won the Southern Highlands Business Award in 2002 for Excellence in Accommodation.
