Bolganup Homestead and Ravine Cottage, Mount Barker

We are enroute from Kojonup to Albany for visits to the Stirling Ranges, Tree Top Walk and Whale World. Walk to wineries, restaurants and craft shops in the Mount Barker area from our property. The Porongurup shop is 5 minutes walk down the entrance lane – walk to breakfast, lunch or to get the paper.

Mists drifting over the ancient granite range, kookaburras amongst the karri trees, the sound of sheep in the valley – a tranquil setting for a wonderful family holiday. The historic farmhouse and cottage have been newly restored and have quality fittings and are beautifully maintained.

Enjoy our friendly atmosphere and relaxing environment. Our guests range from singles to groups. The gracious garden is fenced and is family friendly.

Bolganup Homestead is set in a beautiful old farm adjoining the Porongurup National Park an ideal base for bush walking, wildflowers and bird watching.

Wander through the farm and into the karri forest, climb the hills and back for lunch on the verandah. Enjoy the peace and quiet day and night.

Our self contained accommodation,(with linen included) has spacious living areas, wide verandahs and cosy fires. A separate games room with table tennis and pool tables is very popular with all out guests, but especially families. Signed short walks take you to see kangaroos and the local flora.

Self Contained Cottage – Ravine Cottage

The Ravine Cottage is a three bedroomed, historic cottage in the garden of the Bolganup Homestead. It has been full restored with glowing polished jarrah floors and quality fittings including linen. It has lovely views to the Porongurup hills which adjoin the farm. It is private and peaceful and the perfect place for honeymooners or those needing respite. Families are also welcome.

Fernbrook

Fernbrook is a self contained apartment in the Homestead opening to the wide front verandah and with expansive views to the paddocks and towards the Stirlings. It is recently restored and has quality fittings and linen and is well maintained. The barbecue on the front verandah is available and a favourite place for al fresco meals with beautiful views to the hills.
The Homestead is of considerable historic interest and there are photos and a history for guests to enjoy.
The setting in the old farm is tranquil and the graceful gardens add to the ambience.
Fernbrook and Burnley can be opened up together through an interconnecting hallway and this is popular with friends and families holidaying together.

Burnley

Burnley is a spacious apartment in the Homestead with glorious views to the Porongurup range and national park. It has a main bedroom which opens to the wide front verandah and the family room and kitchen look to the hills. A combustion wood heater very effectively heats the whole area and is easy to operate. Wood is provided. The apartment has been newly restored, is fully selfcontained and is well maintained. Linen is provided. Burnley and Fernbrook can be joined through an interconnecting door in a hall way and this is popular with friends and families holidaying together.
A barbecue is available for use on the front verandah and the separate games room is available for socialising. It also has an open fireplace which is ideal for winter time. In summer the weather can be hot in the day time but the evenings are usually cool and the house is comfortable.
The farm has wildflowers, bushland and kangaroos and also many unique birds in the garden and bush.
A laundry is available for guests use.

Bolganup

Bolganup is a two bedroom apartment in the Homestead and is only available to adults. It is newly restored.
