Start or finish your journey along The Great Ocean Road at Amble In Cottage, situated near Nelson, 20 minutes drive from Mount Gambier. The renovated self contained stone cottage was built in the early 1900’s on the 60 hectare farm which fronts the Glenelg Nation Park and River. Decorated in country cottage style it provides either the romantic stay for a couple or accommodates up to 5 people, with 2 queen bedrooms, a double sofa bed in the lounge and foldaway bed. A bathroom with the original large claw bath, shower and separate toilet provides ensuite facilities to the main bedroom, and two way access for guests in the 2nd bedroom. A glass fronted slow combustion wood fire provides a warm comfortable atmosphere. Wood and electric heating, television, VCR and CD, local call phone and internet access are provided. The modern baltic pine kitchen with slate floor, contains full size oven and refrigerator, a dishwasher and microwave. The well situated dining area looks over the farmland which is frequented by kangaroos and birdlife. An undercover outdoor area is fitted with gas barbecue and also provides undercover parking. An outdoor pet enclosure provides comfortable accommodation for pets, but they are not permitted inside the cottage. Parking is provided for boats and fish cleaning facilities are provided outdoors. The property is within 5 minutes drive of Nelson centre where country hospitality can be enjoyed at the local Hotel or Kiosk. The nearby Glenelg National Park and River is popular for many recreational activities including fishing, boating, skiing, cruising, canoeing and walking. Being centrally located within 30 minutes drive of Mount Gambier, Princess Margaret Rose Cave, Port MacDonnell, Piccinninie Ponds and Portland and many holiday activities are available.
