Things To Do in Southgate

The appeal is the drive. Lawrence Road follows the river past old farmhouses and fig trees, with Ulmarra visible on the far bank. The ferry that once crossed to Ulmarra from here closed in 2024, so the nearest crossings are now the bridges at Grafton and the ferry at Lawrence.

There is no accommodation at Southgate. Grafton is the nearest base.

Eat & Drink

There are no shops. Lawrence has a tavern and store, and Grafton has everything else.

Getting to Southgate

From Grafton take the Summerland Way to Junction Hill and turn on to Lawrence Road.
