Point Samson

Located a 20 minute drive north of Roebourne, Point Samson can be found at the eastern tip of the Dampier Archipelago. This tranquil fishing hamlet is an ideal spot to relax and soak up the quiet beauty of the north west coast.

Initially developed as a shipping port with facilities to handle bigger vessels than those handled at nearby Cossack, Point Samson is now home to a large fishing fleet which enjoys the security and convenience of a new marina. The recently constructed rock groins and boat launching ramp also offer easy access to deep water fishing.

Point Samson is home to some fine beaches which provide visitors with snorkeling and shore based fishing opportunities. Popular spots include John’s Creek and Honeymoon Cove. Whales migrating south can be seen from the shore from July to October.

Australia's Best Beaches

Australia has miles and miles of shoreline but which beaches are really great? Ultimately it depends on what you're looking for in a beach. Pristine wilderness without a single footprint in sight, the sparkle of cosmopolitan high rise on the waters edge, the adrenalin pumping roar of a powerful surf beach, or quite simply the perfect white squeaky sand that squelches between your toes.
