Coolangatta on a clear idyllic day on the Gold Coast, Australia

The rugged headland of Point Danger gives way to delightful Rainbow Bay where gentle surf offers a safe haven to small children. Further north is the tree-studded Greenmount headland, the perfect vantage point to watch the sun rise over crystal waters. Below are the white sands of Coolangatta’s sheltered beach and nearby picnic areas. Coolangatta’s bistros and cafes are close by for lunch or a snack. On the second Sunday of the month market stalls are set up along the beachfront where you can browse through local handicrafts.

The Glasshouse Mountains in the hinterland of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast are actually the cores of 20 million year old volcanoes. The sides of the volcanoes have eroded away leaving only the hardened rock spiremountain cores we see today. Learn more about this awe-inspiring landscape.
