Award-winning Swan Valley Wagon Trails invite you to relax in comfortable professionally appointed pioneer style Clydesdale-drawn wagons and tour Perth’s Wine Country, the beautiful Swan Valley – only 13 kilometres from the city centre.

Offering a variety of trails from the mouth-watering “Tastes of the Valley” half day or relaxingly scenic “Vineyard Meander” half day to the full day “Fruits of the Valley” including a-la-carte lunch. Passengers will enjoy sights, tastes and experiences synonymous with this historic wine region.

Check out the “Cruise ‘n Trail” combined adventure including scenic river cruise, coach tour and exciting off-road wagon trail which also offers a rural farmstay overnight accommodation option as well.

For something really different maybe a Romance Package or Moonlight Dinner Trail is more your style.

Courtesy air-conditioned coach transfers are available from Guildford Train Station.

Touring Options

B – Full Day – Fruits of the Valley – Wagon Trail

Enjoy the Swan Valley experience and taste ‘Fruits of the Valley’.

This relaxing and scenic wagon trail includes a taste tempting visit to an icecream cafe for locally made icecreams, sorbets, sherbets and granitas using famous Swan Valley fruits, delicious seasonal fresh and dried fruit tasting, local extra virgin olive oils, dukkah, honey, home-made produce, and premium wine tasting at Edgecombe Brothers, scenic vineyard and lakeside trailing through the natural bird sanctuary (Lake Yakine), historic visit to Western Australia’s oldest church – All Saints Church and the birthplace of our colony, an opportunity to sit on the banks of the Swan River, followed by a la carte lunch at picturesque Valley View restaurant with fresh garlic bread, tea and percolated coffee.

Following lunch a visit to unique Maalinup Aboriginal Gallery to explore our indigenous culture including didgeridoos and boomerangs and tasting of traditional "bush tucker". Off-road trail deep into the heart of the vineyard to arrive at Charlies Estate Wines and Nougat Boutique to taste wines and fresh nougat. The trail will also visit award-winning Henley Park Wines, plus the unique hand-made mudbrick cellar of Marlindah Vineyard for wine, garlic olive and fresh macadamia nut tasting. The trail concludes at The Mallard Duck Cafe.

E – Romantic Horse-drawn Carriage Packages

Choice of ‘Romantic Private Riverbank Picnic’ with Gourmet Hamper or a ‘Private Twilight Trail’ with Candlelight Dinner both with complimentary bottle of Swan Valley wine. You will enjoy your own classic Victoria Phaeton Carriage drawn by an elegant white horse with uniformed driver.

Sit back and relax as your carriage takes you through beautiful Henley Brook, stopping along the way to taste regional treats and of course premium Swan Valley wines.

C – Cruise ‘n Trail – Combined Cruise, Coach and Wagon Trails

Perth is considered by many to be one of the world’s most spectacular and beautiful cities. The Swan River with it’s magnificent broad waters and parkland surrounds is without doubt the jewel in Perth’s crown.

Unique in Australia and exclusive to Perth this combined trio of transport showcases the finest Australian visitor experiences.

Sit back, relax and enjoy Perth’s Famous Wine Cruise with hosts Captain Cook Cruises through the tranquil waters to the upper reaches of the beautiful Swan River. Cruise leisurely past riverside mansions, parklands, historic buildings and vineyards as you enjoy the Captain’s expert commentary.

The friendly staff will look after you as you relax on one of their modern vessels in air-conditioned comfort, or out on the open deck. On board you’ll enjoy morning tea and coffee with pastries. During your leisurely cruise you will have the opportunity to sample selected premium Western Australian Wines of the Month with cheese and crackers.

Upon arrival at historic Caversham House you will transfer to a Captain Cook Coach and visit award-winning Sandalford Wines for tasting.

Following your tasting you will be transferred by coach to The Margaret River Chocolate factory for tasting.

Next stop will be picturesque Valley View Restaurant for your delicious Italian cuisine a-la-carte lunch with fresh garlic bread, tea and coffee.

Transfer to a Clydesdale-drawn luxury pioneer-style wagon – your hosts Swan Valley Wagon Trails. Enjoy a leisurely ‘vineyard meander’ deep into the heart of the vineyards to arrive at Charlies’ Estate Wines and Nougat. Enjoy tasting an extensive range of premium wines as well as fresh nougat.

A visit to the oldest church in Western Australia and virtual birthplace of the colony on the banks of the Swan River, will be followed by further relaxing off-road trailing. Passing scenery will include a pine forest, olive grove, and fruit drying racks. Trailing along typical Australian bush tracks the wagons will meander past Lake Yakine natural wetland bird sanctuary.

On arrival at the winery, discover the ‘sweet treats’ of the Valley – natural honey, sun-dried fruits, jams, pickles, relishes and butters, as well as extensive wine tasting featuring a renowned Swan Valley Liqueur Muscat.

An air-conditioned coach transfer to Perth concludes the tour.

A – Half Day – Tastes of the Valley or Vineyard Meander – Wagon Trails

This relaxing wagon trail gives passengers an opportunity to explore the Swan Valley in luxury pioneer style.

The morning ‘Tastes of the Valley’ includes a visit to an icecream cafe to enjoy icecream and sorbets, using famous Swan Valley fruits; scenic off-road trailing through vineyards and lakeside en route to Edgecombe Brothers to enjoy seasonal ‘Fruits of the Valley’ including table grapes, fresh asparagus, citrus fruits, melons, olive oil, honey, nuts and other delicious home-made produce followed by premium wine tasting; scenic trailing through vineyards and lakeside through the natural bird sanctuary known as Lake Yakine; a historic visit to Western Australia’s oldest church – All Saints Church; an opportunity to sit on the banks of the Swan River.

The afternoon ‘Vineyard Meander’ provides additional off-road trailing deep into the heart of the vineyards visiting Charlies’ Estate Wines and Nougat. Passengers will enjoy tasting an extensive range of wines as well as fresh nougat. A visit to historic All Saints Church will provide an informative insight into Western Australia’s colonial past. The trail will travel through scenic Lake Yakine natural wetland bird sanctuary, past peaceful pine forests and lush olive grove, through Australian bushland tracks en route to Edgecombe Bros winery to taste the ‘sweet treats’ of the Valley including natural honey, jams, pickles, relishes, and butters. Wine tasting will also feature a renowned Swan Valley Liqueur Muscat.

D – Cruise ‘n Trail Combined Package with Overnight Farmstay Option

For those wishing to extend the experience, an overnight ‘Farmstay Package’ is available including four star luxury cottage accommodation, dinner, breakfast, animal feeding, riverbank walk trail.
