Cooktown Heritage Day Tour

The flight to Cooktown is over reefs and cays, see Endeavour Reef where Captain Cook ran aground in 1770. The historical tour takes you from Cook’s visit through the gold rush days to today’s relaxed lifestyle, Grassy Hill lookout, the James Cook Museum, lunch and some souvenir shopping. Return flight over heritage listed rainforest, the Daintree River and Port Douglas.

Cape York – Top of Australia

Fly north over reefs and cays to Endeavour Reef and on past Hope Islands to Cooktown, see James Cook Museum, Grassy Hill lookout. Fly over Lizard Island, over coastline, reef and wilderness lands of Cape York, see the northern tip of Australia and the Torres Strait Islands.

Undara Lava Tubes

From Cairns they fly over Copperlode and Tinaroo Dams, Atherton and the Tablelands, to the lava country and Undara. They are met by their Savannah Guide at the airport and taken on an informative tour of the fascinating leaving these unusual tunnel-like formations. The lava tubes are set high in the savannah with its wide variety of bush life, volcanic craters and vast cattle properties. For lunch they return to Lava Lodge and its historical railway carriages. On their flight home they see the upper reaches of the Tully River, Koonbooloomba Dam, Innisfail and canefields on the way to Cairns.

Gulf and Savannah Land Two Day Tour

Day One: Leaving Cairns the flight takes us over Mareeba then follows the track of the Savannalander Train over Georgtown to Cobbald Gorge, on the way seeing the vast network of inland rivers. Enjoy a seafood dinner, relax for the evening and take in the beauty of the Normanton River.

Day Two: Karumba is famous for its fishing with prawn trawling and barramundi fishing being its way of life. They are taken on a morning fishing trip then lunch at The Sunset Tavern before the flight back to Cairns.
