Adelaide To Alice Springs 10 Day Tour – HBA01

Escape the crowds and buses, come and experience the real Australian Outback on our ten day four wheel drive camping safari, which has been operating since 1989.

. Days One and Two – Pick up at approximately 0730 from Adelaide accommodation then we head north to the magnificent Flinders Ranges. Spending two days in this spectacular mountain range allows us time to bush walk and explore Wilpena Pound, Aboriginal art sites, and many beautiful gorges. Camp amongst the towering peaks, which are rich in Aboriginal culture and have an abundance of Australian wildlife.

. Day Three – Leave the splendour of the rugged mountain scenery and travel further north into the Outback. At Lyndhurst we begin our journey up the famous Oodnadatta Track, following its historic route of the cameleers and the Old Ghan Railway. At Marree we visit the Arabunna Aboriginal Centre and maybe have the opportunity to talk with the local Aboriginal community. Push on into the desert and cross the Dingo Fence, check out Lake Eyre South and have a refreshing dip in a billabong at Coward Springs.

. Days Four, Five and Six – Explore some of the most isolated and remote areas on earth. We enjoy a drink at the William Creek Hotel, a real bush pub, go underground in Coober Pedy, the outback opal mining capital, camp and four wheel drive into rarely visited areas including Pedirka, Great Stony, Simpson and the Painted Deserts. We visit the famous Pink Roadhouse of Oodnadatta, swim in outback billabongs where the water is several million years old and check out the remote outback homestead at Mount Dare. We camp in Australia’s Red Centre and experience the real Australia.

. Days Seven and Eight – Arrive at Uluru (Ayers Rock) in time to marvel at the magical sunset. Spending two days in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, gives us time to fully appreciate the Aboriginal culture and spiritual meaning this area has to the traditional owners. Join our guided walk around the base of Uluru, which introduces you to the traditional food sources and spirituality of this area.

. Days Nine and Ten – Continue our journey through the red sand hill country to the spectacular Kings Canyon. Here we take a beautiful three to four hour walk around the gorges and rugged valleys descending into the Garden of Eden Waterhole for a swim. We head north to the spectacular gorges of the Western MacDonnell Ranges. At the end of the day we reach our final destination, Alice Springs.
