Operating from Mackay Reef Marina, the Mackay Water Taxis and Adventures offer a range of different tour operations that cater for day trips to the reef for snorkelling, beachcombing and beach walking, day trips for coastal island reef fishing and overnight reef fishing tours, and twilight cruises to nearby offshore islands on sunset.

Morning and afternoon teas, lunches, dinners, fishing gear, snorkelling gear is all provided on your prospective tour.

Mackay Water Taxis and Adventures have over 20 years of experience in the waters of the Mackay Region and certainly know where the hot spots are for fishing and snorkelling. They cater for small groups of people offering a personalised tour that allows the visitor the space and freedom to fish, snorkel or discover a secluded beach island paradise.

Touring Options

Coastal Island Reef Fishing Day Trip

Cruise to outer Islands 20 nautical miles off the coast for deep sea fishing. Morning and afternoon teas provided and a tropical lunch, cool drinks, bait and tackle, and all the help you need to catch that elusive coral trout, lipper, red emperor, just to name a few.
The large deck on the boat gives you room to move around.
A good day for all groups, husband , wife, fishing clubs, or a boys day out. Arrive back to Mackay Marina around 5.00 p.m.

Coastline Fishing

The charter includes morning and afternoon tea, lunch, tea and coffee and cold drinks.

If fishing we provide all fishing equipment bait and tackle.

If snorkelling all equipment will be supplied and experienced staff to help with any difficulties.

Reef Trips

Depart Mackay Marina at 8.00 a.m. for the reef and deep sea fishing.
All meals and cool drinks are provided. Bait, tackle rods and hand lines are at your disposal.
Fish filleted and packed for your eskies, large back deck for room to move. Anchor in safe anchorage at night for a barbecue dinner, and more fishing coral trout, lipper, red emporer, rass, just to name a few. You can tailor make your own trip.

Twilight Cruises

Departing Mackay Marina at 5.00 p.m. you will head to Round Top and Flat Top Island.

This is a great trip for any social group, bucks’ night, hens’ night and family outings or with a group of friends.

Cruise into the sunset and enjoy the wonders of the water while leaving the lights of Mackay far in the distance.

Once anchored, savouries and drinks are served in a quiet spot sheltered by the Island, eclipsed by the peace and quiet with the company of good friends.

8.00 p.m. settle in for the return journey to Mackay Marina arriving at 9.00 p.m.

Day Trips

Depart Mackay Marina at 8.30 a.m. for coastal islands 15 nautical miles off the coast, with possibilities of seeing whales, dolphins, turtles and other marine life. Snorkel over coral reefs, or cruise over the reef in the glass bottom boat. Beachcombing, sunbaking, snorkel in sparkling clear tropical waters where seclusion is almost guaranteed. Morning and afternoon teas, tropical lunch, cool drinks, all provided, stinger suits available for hire. Arrive back at Mackay Marina at 5.00 p.m.

Overnight Trips

Depart Mackay Marina at 8.00 a.m. and head for the outer islands of Wigton, Caulder and Scawfell for two days of deep sea fishing or just relaxing, with family or friends. All bait, tackle and rods lines are provided. Morning and afternoon teas, tropical lunch, barbecue dinner and breakfast are all supplied.
The crew work hard to find the hot spots for fishing, coral trout, lipper, red emporer just to name a few.
Filleted and packed for your eskies, large back deck for lots of room to move.
