Reeforest Adventure Tours has operated in Mackay over 14 years. Col and Jenny Adamson have operated the tour for the last five years. A variety of tours operate from Mackay and Airlie Beach” data-wpil-keyword-link=”linked”>Airlie Beach to Eungella National Park, Mackay City, Cape Hillsborough National Park, Pioneer Valley and the Whitsunday’s. The coaches are safe, air-conditioned and vary from six to 46 seaters. Reeforest owns a bush camp in Finch Hatton Gorge called the “The Finch Hatton Hilton” where Billy tea and damper are served as well as a barbecue lunch on our Platypus and Rainforest ECO Tour. All tours are laid back with plenty of time for photos, swimming, animal spotting and a full commentary on the history of the area as well as a few tall stories.

Breakfast With A Platypus

Enjoy an early morning tour with a full hot breakfast, with some platypus spotting, guided rainforest walks in Eungella National Park, and billy tea and damper at the Finch Hatton Hilton.

Mackay City Heritage Tour

Relaxed, tropical and picturesque, Mackay City has seen many changes through the decades and the story of the city’s evolution to a diverse regional metropolis is a fascinating one.
The Mackay River City Tour tells this story, from the city hearts historical turn of the century architecture, the tragic tale of the devastating cyclone in 1918 through to the spectacular sights of the northern beaches, Illawong and Town Beach’s, Mackay Marina, Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens, Artspace Mackay and morning tea at ‘The Mill’.

Cape Hillsborough Northern Eco Safari

A day filled with travel to various attractions in the Cape Hillsborough area. This tour tells the history of the Juipera Aboriginal Tribe and how they lived in this region, including visits to the old Aboriginal Midden, ancient Fish Trap and the Aboriginal Bush tucker trail.

Platypus and Rainforest Eco Safari

A tour through the Pioneer Valley to Finch Hatton Gorge where billy tea and damper is served for morning tea, then onto the gorge for an interpretive walk on the eco systems of the rainforest and a swim in a fresh mountain stream, heading back to the Finch Hatton Hilton for a full barbecue lunch with dessert. The afternoon will be spent spotting platypus at Broken River.
