Specialising in sports (lure) fishing in Darwin Harbour, The Guru boasts a 6.7 metre Southwind longboat (banana boat), which comfortably accommodates the style of fishing he offers. Michael targets a number of species including mackerel, trevally, queen fish on the high tides, fishing the creeks on the low tides for barramundi, salmon and mangrove jacks, and mud crabbing can be included.

If you’re looking to target a specific species or you would like to visit a billabong, Guru’s can design your fishing experience for you. Their tours are designed to maximise the benefits gained from tidal movements, especially when targetting barramundi, to ensure you are on the spot when the fish are likely to be feeding. To visit local billabongs, Guru’s will pick up from CBD accommodation or meet you on site at the billabong, and take you on a fishing experience of a lifetime. As with their full day tours, this tour is all inclusive, you just need to come and enjoy the experience.

Guru’s Full Day

Guru’s Full Day offers you the opportunity to take on some of the great fishing that’s available right here in Darwin Harbour, while enjoying highlights of Darwin city from the water. Your trip will be designed around the tides to provide you with the maximum benefits and of course the best chance of catching ‘the big one.’ All your tackle is provided and there is no extra charge if you lose a lure. Ideal for the fisherman who has little time to travel down the track and once you’re in the water, you’re on your way. Pick up from CBD accommodation, Stokes Hill Wharf or local boat ramp by arrangement, and only three minutes from Darwin. Fly fishing available, but numbers are limited and you must bring your own gear.

Guru’s Extended Charter

Guru’s Extended Charter is designed for the keen fisherman looking to get away for a fishing experience of a lifetime. Pick up available from CBD accommodation, or make your way to the destination where Guru’s will meet you, where your accommodation and meals have been prearranged. You will spend your days fishing the run off for barramundi, then back to your accommodation for a well earned rest and reminisce over the day’s events. A quick breakfast and it’s back down to the business of fishing. These tours are three days and two nights, and are ideal for corporate or business groups that want to get away from it all.

Guru’s Half Day

With limited time, you can still enjoy exciting fishing in Darwin Harbour. While taking in the views of Darwin city, you can be chasing giant trevally, queen fish, mackerel and yes, even the illusive barramundi, as well as having a chance to see some of our local wildlife in their natural surroundings. Your tour includes pick up from Stokes Hill Wharf or the local Dinah Beach boat ramp by arrangement. You just need yourself and a mate (as trips are limited to a minimum of two persons) and a smile. Trips are available in the morning or afternoon.
