All tours are led by local Aboriginal (Anangu) guides, who accompany visitors to the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, offering special insights into the real meaning of Uluru to its people. Anangu guides are traditional Aboriginal people who have spent their entire lives living at Uluru, immersed in Anangu culture.

Anangu Tours is one of Australias most awarded tour companies, and have been inducted into the Australian Tourism Hall of Fame in 2003, winning consecutive awards.

Touring Options

Dot Painting Workshop

On this tour you can meet Aboriginal artists who live at Uluru / Ayers Rock and share in their knowledge of traditional desert art as you learn about the meanings and significance behind their beautiful works. Join Aboriginal artists at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre and complete your own work of art using your designs and concepts. Afterwards you might like to enjoy a sunset tour of Uluru / Ayers Rock, or enjoy a unique Sounds of Silence dining experience.

This tour returns to the resort in time for guests to continue on the Kuniya Sunset Tour, extra charge. A self drive option is available to join the Aboriginal artsists at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre.

Aboriginal Uluru Tour

View the spectacular sunrise over Uluru / Ayers Rock and explore this iconic landmark as you are guided by its traditional owners. Retrace the path of the Liru Walk and see the scars etched into the rock as your Aboriginal guides tell the story of a great battle fought by their ancestors. Hear the tragic fate of Lungkata, the Blue Tongue Lizard Man, who still lies at the base of Uluru / Ayers Rock. You will also see demonstrations of bush skills, such as mixing bush glue, making fire without matches, throwing a spear and carving wooden tools with a sharpened stone on this fascinating tour.

A Liru Walk only option is available, this tour starts at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. An Anangu Culture Pass option is also available, this tour combines the Aboriginal Ulutur Tour and the Kunlya Sunset Tour over one or two days.

Kuniya Sunset Tour

Uluru / Ayers Rock is perhaps the most recognised natural icon in Australia, and a visit to this landmark is an unforgettable experience. On this unique tour of the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park you can discover more about this monolith as you share in the intimate knowledge of its traditional owners. As you explore the base of Uluru / Ayers Rock with your Aboriginal guides you will see ancient rock art, search for local bush tucker and hear Dreamtime stories. At the end of this fascinating tour you can relax as the desert sunset surrounds you, and take some time to truly appreciate the powerful spirit of this amazing place.

A Kuniya Walk only option is available. An Anangu Culture Pass option is also avaialble, this our combines the Aboriginal Uluru Tour and the Kuniya Sunset Tour over one or two days. A touring pass combining the Aboriginal guided Kuniya Sunset Tour and the AAT Kings Morning Olas Tour is an option available.

Dot Painting and Kuniya Sunset Tour

Gain an insight into Aboriginal culture as you join the traditional owners of the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park for this hands on tour. First, visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre to participate in a dot painting workshop and learn about this ancient art form. Next, follow your Aboriginal guides on the Kuniya Walk, which leads Mutitjulu Waterhole, before relaxing as the sun sets over Uluru / Ayers Rock. This is a truly unforgettable experience.

Mala Walk Tour

Experience the Mala Walk and listen to the creation story of the Mala, or hare wallaby, as you are guided by the traditional owners of the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park on this Uluru / Ayers Rock tour. Along the Mala Walk you can see painted caves and visit the sacred Kantju Gorge, where a quiet waterhole lies at the base of the rock. This tour provides a wonderful opportunity to learn about Aboriginal culture and traditions.
