Deceptively handy to the closest amenities, to eat out, the bank, liquor store, cafe and general store and the hospital is right next door. All within a five minute walk and the beach is over the road. A really peaceful place with a noticeable lack of noise. Mary Challis Cottages are simple but functional and very clean. The hosts are more than happy to help with queries yet you rarely see them. The woodhens and chooks that wander in, the cow and the horse that graze in the paddock all add to the relaxing atmosphere. Being on the island can be expensive but being in a self contained cottage means that you can eat in most nights. There are some start up supplies when you arrive which can be very helpful. The cottages are very much in keeping with the atmosphere of the island.
