Belltrees Country House, Scone
Guests of the White family experience the rugged colonial elegance of Australian country living. Belltrees Station is a 23,000 acre working ranch four hours from Sydney in the beautiful Upper Hunter Valley.
There is a range of accommodation options on the property. You may choose to have your own cottage, or be the guest of Peter and Serena White at the Country House B&B.
Belltrees was once a family colonial home. Now joing the family on the working rural property as their guest. Open from Wednesday to Sunday only. Features include a shearing shed, old slab trading store, chapel, and the original homestead and museum.
During the drought of 1994, Belltrees became the host for an American Film Production shooting the film “A Matter of Honour”, with Rod Steiger and Gabrielle Anwar. This meant looking after the film crew, the extras, and shooting scenes including 400 horses galloping across a criver driven by five cavalrymen under canon
fire! Belltrees managed to entertain, feed and accomodate all these people and horses with ease.
While guests don’t participate in day-to-day farm activities, they can get a taste of life in the bush with the added advantage of all the trimmings of civilisation. Day tours available.
