Wirraminna Station, Wirraminna

Wirraminna Station is located five and a half hours from Adelaide on the Stuart Highway and is situated adjacent the magnificent Lake Hart and Lake Gairdner Salt Lakes. Wirraminna is the perfect opportunity for the discerning traveller to relax and enjoy the South Australian Outback, whether staying to explore the area or as a stop over on their travels. There are two double rooms available as accommodation which have just been completely renovated in the ‘Directors Quarters’, which was built in the early 1900’s adjacent the homestead to accommodate visitors and staff. The rooms include – fully self contained kitchens, reverse cycle air conditioners and ceiling fans, beautifully appointed ensuites, DVD/CD players, including latest release movies, 24 hour power and private courtyard with barbecue facilities, situated amongst the beautiful homestead garden Alternative meal options, including local tours are available on request. A special barbecue and picnic area is also available to guests, overlooking Lake Hart at a very picturesque location not available to the public – ask about picnic hampers when booking your room. Special events at Wirraminna include shearing in May, crutching in November or join Michael on a station water run to check the livestock. The Glendambo Gymkhana is on the Easter long weekend and the Glendambo Races the first weekend in October. These are unique events, which welcome visitors.
