Packers High Country Horseriding

Based at Anglers Rest in a remote part of Victorias High Country, Packers High Country Horseriding offers horseriding treks from one hour to fully catered five day safaris. Breathtaking views across a sea of mountain ranges, rocky escarpments, forests of tall mountain ash and open woodlands and crystal clear rivers to ride alongside. It’s a great backyard to explore. Horseriding safaris into the Alpine National Parks of up to 5 days take in the historic Glen Wills, remote Cobungra river valleys and the vast Bogong High Plains, a viewing platform for Victorias highest mountains. Treks follow along routes that were once used by Aborigines, early explorers, goldminers and cattlemen. You seldom see others except for the group you ride with. Enjoy a great picnic lunch out bush then at night settle around the campfire, telling tall tales and listening to the sounds of the bush as a memorable dinner is cooked for you. Daily Rides – Ride by the hour, by the day. Treks are on offer for all standards and ages of riders and can be tailor made to suit. The Willows Anglers Rest is a remote farm retreat located alongside the Bundarrah River, Anglers Rest. (north of Omeo) Riders are accommodated in a mud brick house with huge decks overlooking superb views. Two comfortable rustic bush huts complete with fireplaces are also available to those wanting a break away somewhere quiet and private. Perfect for during the fishing season with trout just waiting in the river nearby.
