Amble In Cottage Bed and Breakfast, Mount Gambier

Start or finish your journey along The Great Ocean Road at romantic Amble In Cottage Bed and Breakfast. Situated one point one kilometre over the Victorian border near Nelson, 20 minutes drive from Mount Gambier and 10 minutes drive from Piccaninnie Ponds. The renovated self-contained stone cottage was built in the early 1900’s on the 50-hectare farm, which fronts the Glenelg National Park and River. Decorated in country cottage style, it luxuriously accommodates up to five people, with two queen size bedrooms and a double sofa bed in the lounge. A bathroom with the original large claw bath, shower and separate toilet provides ensuite facilities to the main bedroom and two-way access for guests in the second bedroom. A glass fronted slow combustion wood fire provides a warm and comfortable atmosphere. Wood, electric heating, television, video player and compact disc player are provided. The modern Baltic Pine kitchen with slate floor contains a full size oven and refrigerator, a dishwasher and microwave. The well-situated dining area looks over the farmland, which is frequented by kangaroos and bird life. An undercover outdoor area is fitted with a hooded gas barbecue and also provides undercover parking. An outdoor pet enclosure provides comfortable accommodation for pets. Local calls and Internet access is available. The property is within five minutes drive of Nelson centre where country hospitality can be enjoyed at the local hotel or kiosk. The nearby Glenelg National Park and River is popular for many recreational activities including fishing, boating, skiing, cruising, canoeing and walking. Being centrally located within 30 minutes drive of Mount Gambier, Princess Margaret Rose Cave, Port MacDonnell, Piccaninnie Ponds and Portland, many holiday activities are available.
