Situated on the banks of the Darling River in Outback NSW, Trilby Station offers a chance to experience life on a working sheep and cattle station.

Originally part of historic Dunlop – first ever to complete a mechanical shearing in 1888.

Seasonal station activities, abundant wildlife, nature trails, 4WD tours, fishing, canoeing and excellent mud maps for self exploration of the station. See our children doing ‘School of the Air’ and visit our open air museum of early settlers farm machinery and steam engines.

The Shearer’s Bunkhouse

The new shearer’s bunkhouse consists of 8 twin share rooms and a double with a fireplace ( all beds are made up and have electric blankets), large bathroom/laundry,a communal dining room with slow combustion heating,reverse cycle air-conditioning in 6 of the bedrooms and fans in all 9, TV, Video and a fully equipped caterers size kitchen with two stoves, fridges, large freezer, microwave, air-conditioning and all pots, pans, camp ovens etc etc.

The bunkhouse has a large collection of historic prints as well as a good selection of reading matter relating to the history of the property – once part of the million acre Dunlop, first station in the world to complete a mechanical shearing in 1888. See the taxidermied animal including a dingo who was resposible for the deaths of around 200 sheep in 1993.

The Darling river is only 100 metres away, and the bunkhouse is set in a garden setting with Gas BBQ , gazebo to view the sunsets and a paved camp-fire area.

The Jillaroo’s Cottage

The former Jillaroo’s Cottage is a fully self-contained, airconditioned, small two bedroom cottage on the boundary of the Homestead gardens… (your personal, tiled and heated bathroom is a few steps away) The queen room also has a trundle bed and the second bedroom has two singles. The cottage features polished wooden floors throughout,TV, heating, air-conditioning, electric blankets, electric stove, microwave, a patio and outdoor gas BBQ.

The Overseer’s Cottage

The very comfortable and recently renovated two bedroom , fully self-contained Overseer’s Cottage is situated close to the Darling River and has a fully fenced garden. The main bedroom is a double and the second has three single beds, all fully made up. The cottage is fully air-conditioned ( reverse cycle and evaporative) and heated, features original polished wooden floorboards and antique furniture, leather lounge suite,TV, Austar, electric blankets, microwave, laundry facilities and a gas BBQ outside.

Ask Liz about her delicious home cooked, country style meals… which she is happy to deliver to your cottage. Or maybe a hamper to take with you while you are exploring the station with one of her ‘mud maps’.

Powered Sites

Gary and I also offer powered caravan sites with bathroom and laundry facilities, gas BBQ, gazebo and paved campfire area…. 100 metres from the beautiful darling River.

Camping Sites

We also offer secluded river campsites dotted along the river bank, with the use of bathroom facilities at the Shearer’s bunkhouse.
