Few, if any sport can match the sheer exhilaration and fun of skydiving. Newcastle Sport Parachute Club, (NSPC), located at Elderslie in the Hunter Valley, is the oldest established skydiving club in Australia and is owned and operated by its members. NSPC has had an an excellent safety record since the club’s inception 40 years ago.

NSPC has a high student retention rate beyond initial training. This means that many people who start skydiving with the NSPC stick with the sport – a reflection on our highly experienced instructors and positive club atmosphere. And, over the years, NSPC has created many Australian and World skydiving champions. Many of NSPC’s instructors and camera flyers compete at a national and international level.

NSPC offers first time skydivers a Tandem Skydive or the Accelerated freefall Course. A video camera flyer can also be available to video your jump as a lasting memento. While weekends are the most popular times for running AFF courses and tandem jumps, we can cater for those who want to jump mid-week.

Complete the final assessment and become a fully qualified skydiver.

Stage 1 Accelerated Freefall Course

The first step towards becoming an experienced skydiver. After a solid day of theoretical and practical training, you will be ready to make your first skydive. With two highly experienced instructors holding on tightly, you will climbout and exit the aircraft. Your instructors will be with you all the way, ensuring your ripcord is pulled and your parachute is deployed. You will fly your own parachute, communicating with an instructor on the ground until you are guided in safely to land.

Tandem Skydive

After a 20 minute pre-dive brief you are harnessed securely to your experienced Tandem Instructor and together you dive out the door. After the ultimate buzz of freefall, the Instructor will deploy the parachute. You will find yourself flying serenely under canopy over the Hunter Valley with a big grin on your face. You may be given an opportunity to steer the parachute, under the guidance of your Tandem Instructor, until they take over again when it is time to land.
