Sandon River, NSW

Take a short drive down from Maclean to the lovely Sandon camping ground within the Yuraygir National Park. It’s a beautiful spot to swim, fish or picnic with toilets available.

The actual village of Sandon is on the southern side of the Sandon River as is only reachable by travelling along the beach from Minnie Water or by boat.

Along the drive to Brooms Head and into down to the Sandon camp grounds you can often see kangaroos and wallabies grazing on the roadside. You may also see one of the last flocks of coastal emus.
