Access the scenic and adventure packed Bago State Forest through Laurel Hill. There are many activities in the Bago State Forest including four wheel driving in the dry months, fossicking, fishing and swimming – at Paddy’s River Dam, the Hume and Hovell Walking Track also passes through the forest.
Other attractions at Laurel Hill and Bago State Forest include the spectacular “Sugarpine Walk” – a walk through a perfect cathedral of sugarpines (even better when the sun shines through and cast shadows – you just have to see it for yourself!) and Pilot Hill Arboretum and picnic area.
The Bago State Forest is home to some of the areas first timber mills and also to gold mining.
