Historic Star Lodge B&B And Restaurant, Narrandera

The Historic Star Lodge was built in 1916 in the Federation style and has previously operated as a Hotel, Youth Hostel but is currently operating as a Bed & Breakfast with a fully licenced restaurant.

The building is situated across the road from the Historic Railway Station on the Newell Highway and there is parking at the rear of the building.

The building is classified by the National Trust as having heritage value with items of interest.

Situated on the ground floor is 1 ensuite room (queen size bed plus a single bed) as well as a serviced apartment (2 bedrooms).

On the first floor upstairs are eight rooms that open onto the large balcony overlooking the scenic township of Narrandera as well as the historic railway station. The rooms are Doubles, Twins and Single and use shared Ladies and Gents bathroom facilities.

Note that usually, guests would have have exclusive rights to bathroom facilities depending of course on occupancy. Upstairs guests also have the use of a lounge room with TV located downstairs.

A fully cooked breakfast is provided to all guests other than those in the serviced apartment unless previously arranged.

The Historic Star Lodge also operates a fully licenced restaurant which is open for romantic dinners for 2 to group dinners for up to 25 persons (Note that bookings are essential). All types of food can be catered for (including vegetarian).

Guests staying at the Star Lodge however, can be provided with meals as long as reasonable notice is given or booking restaurant when making reservation.

During your stay in Narrandera, ask at reception about a pleasant stroll through the local koala sanctuary and koala, kangaroo and wild life spotting along the banks of the Murrumbidgee River and Lake Talbot. Staff are only too happy to assist. Activities may also include playing a round of golf at the local golf course or visiting numerous regional wineries.

Accommodation Options

Double/Twin

The double/ twin rooms contain a double and a single bed and are located on the first floor of the building. The bathrooms are shared. Usually though, if there are only a couple of rooms occupied, a bathroom will be allocated for the exclusive use of a room.

Ensuite

There is one ensuite room (located on the ground floor) with a queen bed.

Single

The single rooms are located on the first floor of the building. The bathrooms are shared.

Serviced Appartment

There is a serviced appartment on the ground floor with a separate entrance. It consists of a bedroom with a queen bed, a second bedroom with two single beds, a bathroom, kitchen and a lounge dining room. A foldaway bed can be moved in. Max number of occupants is 5.
