Bandicoot Run One Day Tour – AWW01DT

An exhilarating, personalized one-day tour of the north and south coast of Kangaroo Island focusing on wildlife and the natural history of the island with a qualified and experienced wildlife guide.

Highlights include marine mammals, Australia’s and Kangaroo Island’s unique marsupials – koalas, possums, wallabies, kangaroos, echidnas and a range of unique bird species – osprey and sea eagles, shore birds and coastal waders and endangered species.

This tour includes Seal Bay and Flinders Chase National Park and all meals, refreshments and fees.

Seal Slide Two Day Tour – AWW02DT

The Seal Slide is comprised of a two day tour with opportunities to bushwalk and experience more remote and spectacular areas of the island off the beaten track. The itinerary offers a dual focus on the natural and cultural history of Kangaroo Island.

Day One – Touring for the first day includes Seal Bay Conservation Park, home to 600 Australian sea lions. An Australian Wildlife Walkabouts accredited guide will take you on a fascinating walk through this colony of wild animals and explain their unique ecology.

Kangaroo Islands’ rugged south coast has many outstanding natural areas, including Little Sahara Geological Monument, historic Grassdale in Kelly Hill Conservation Park, spectacular Hanson Bay and Flinders Chase National Park, internationally known for its wildlife and outstanding natural features in Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch. The area is rich in Aboriginal history. Unique overnight cultural experience in exclusive bed and breakfast accommodation with spectacular views.

Day Two – The next day we explore some of the areas that are right off the beaten track. Possibilities include The Snake Lagoon – Rocky River hike (platypus habitat), continuing on to beach comb wild, spectacular and remote Maupertuis Bay, or scenic West Bay with the ruins of a wallaby trappers’ hut. West Bay Hollow is another shorter but spectacular option, or the scenic Ravine des Casoars walk in the Wilderness Protection Area.

After a bush lunch the tour leaves Flinders Chase and continues along the north coast to Lathami Conservation Park, habitat for the endangered glossy black cockatoo and home to wallabies, kangaroos and a host of other native flora and fauna.

The Right Whaler Three Day Tour – AWW03DT

The Right Whaler is a three day tour with opportunities to bushwalk and experience remote and spectacular areas of the island. Tour highlights include: Seal Bay Conservation Park, Little Sahara Geological Monument, Vivonne Bay , “Grassdale” in Kelly Hill Conservation Park, Hanson Bay, Remarkable Rocks, Cape Du Couedic, Flinders Chase National Park, bushwalks, Ravine Des Casoars, Rocky River, West Bay, Western River Conservation Park, Stokes Bay, Lathami Conservation Park and Cygnet River valley (koala habitat).

Day One – The first day features the rugged south coast of Kangaroo Island, including Seal Bay Conservation Park, home to 600 Australian sea lions. Walk through this colony of wild animals and gain an understanding of their unique ecology. Little Sahara, an area of massive wind sculptured sand dunes, Vivonne Bay, home of the Cray fishing fleet, historic “Grassdale” and beautiful Hanson Bay are explored on the way to Flinders Chase National Park.

In the park we visit Remarkable Rocks and rugged Cape du Couedic, once home to a hardy breed of lighthouse keepers and their families. Now an increasing number of fur seals dominate this wild coastline. Unique overnight cultural experience in exclusive bed and breakfast accommodation with spectacular views.

Day Two – An early pick up from your bed and breakfast means we have a full day to get off the beaten track and explore the wilds of Flinders Chase.
Possibilities include the Snake Lagoon – Rocky River hike, continuing on to beach comb wild, spectacular and remote Maupertuis Bay, or scenic West Bay with a walk upstream to the ruins of a wallaby trapper’s hut. The Ravine des Casoars wilderness walk and the unusual West Bay Hollow are further possibilities before returning to your bed and breakfast accommodation. Day Three – Features the north coast parks including Western River Conservation Park and Lathami Conservation Park. Lathami is habitat for the endangered glossy black cockatoos as well as many other species including wallabies, kangaroos, echidnas and the magnificent wedge tailed eagle. We leave Lathami for the Cygnet River Valley to view koalas before making our way to Kingscote Airport.
