Moreton Island Ferries

Your adventure begins aboard the MICat, the largest and fastest vehicular ferry operating in South-East Queensland. The journey to the Island takes an hour so sit back, relax and take in the comfort and style of this brand-new luxury vessel. Keep your eyes open during the crossing of the bay as they regularly see Turtles, Dolphins, Dugongs and even Whales.

Once you arrive you will be accompanied by an experienced guide who has an extensive knowledge of, and passion for the Island. Sit back and take in the pleasant surroundings as you are chauffeured to the first stop on the tour – The Desert. Here, you will be given the opportunity to experience the exhilaration and excitement of sand tobogganing. If, on the other hand, you prefer your adventures to be set at a more relaxing pace, take this opportunity at the Desert to take in the magnificent Bay views and stroll around the dynamic sand dune habitat.

The Northern tip of Moreton Island is home to the oldest lighthouse in Queensland, Cape Moreton, and the next point of call on the tour. Cape Moreton is the only rock formation on an island and was formed by volcanic activity millions of years ago. From the top of the cliffs here you can see a variety of marine life including Turtles, Dolphins, Manta-Rays and Whales – a perfect setting to enjoy a picnic lunch served by your friendly guide.

After lunch, the tour continues to the remarkable Champagne Pools at Honeymoon Bay and the second lighthouse on the Island – North Light before returning down the Ocean beach to board the MICat. One return journey you will be provided with afternoon tea and are welcome to rest, watch a movie, or enjoy the sunset.
